Everglades Eco Safari

everglades eco safari

An Everglades Escape

Your everglades eco safari departs from the shores of Habitat Noosa Everglades eco camp where you will board a purpose built everglades vessel for a river cruise across the magnificent wetlands of the Noosa River into Australia's only Everglades.

First stop is an indigenous cultural meeting place called Fig Tree Point, where you’ll have time to depart the vessel and walk around this historically important landscape, afterwards you’ll reboard the vessel to cruise upstream through ancient landscapes, mirrored waterways & sub-tropical rainforest to enjoy morning tea at iconic Harry’s Hut.

After morning tea you’ll have time to check out the iconic Harry’s Hut facility which was once home to teams of timber millers. Afterwards you will reboard the vessel for your return journey where you’ll experience the magnificent wonders of the Everglades, recognised as one of the most spectacular waterways in Australia - a place you MUST see to believe.

Enjoy the leisurely river cruise back to habitat noosa everglades eco camp, where everyone enjoys a chef prepared hot roast lunch in the award winning CootharaBAR & Bistro, which overlooks the lake and surrounding national park.

Amazing Views

Did you know that over 44% of all Australia's bird species reside within this spectacular region? That is more than Kakadu National Park in an area only a fraction in size.

Family Friendly

If you have some family members who do not wish to participate in the canoeing part, they are invited to stay on the vessel and enjoy a leisurely cruise to the same end destination.

The Highlight of my Trip to Noosa! This Cruise was an amazing experience. The captain was knowledgeable and entertaining and the area was peaceful and the scenery magnificent. The food provided at the end was delicious and plentiful. Not to be missed.

Highly recommended for families with small children (ours is 7). The more adventurous and/or fit can paddle for 5km. The tour of the “black mirror” river waters is unforgettable and the wild nature is astonishing. The tour guide was nice and ready to answer our questions. Kudos for the food at the restaurant: way better than the average lunch you get during such day trips.

This day long everglades eco safari river cruise provides an interesting experience of the local river system and Australian bush environment with an entertaining and very informative commentary from guide Dave. The landscape was scarred by bushfires that had burnt through the area only a month before our trip so lush green bush had been replaced by blackened trees and undergrowth, a sight familiar to many Australians but a new experience for the international travellers on the cruise. The option of paddling part of the river by canoe was taken up by a number of participants. The roast lunch included at the end of the tour was excellent. I thought the whole experience was very good value for money and the pick up and drop off from Noosa was an added bonus.
